LeBlanc
Daniel LeBlanc, born in 1626 in Martaize, France, arrived at Port Royal, Acadia, in 1645. Not much is known of Daniel's ancestory except he was the son of Rene LeBlanc. Some research shows his paternal grandfather was Alphonse LeBlanc and Pierre LeBlanc as his paternal great-grandfather. Lucie Leblanc Consentino, a noted researcher on the Leblanc family, states that there is no proven link between Daniel and Alphonse and Pierre... this is a serious misleading error! He married in 1650 Francoise Gaudet, daughter of Jean Gaudet.
The children born to Daniel and Francoise were:
- Jacques, born 1651
- Marie Francoise, 1653
- Etienne, 1656
- Rene, 1657
- Andre, 1659
- Antoine, 1662
- Pierre, 1664
Antoine, son of Daniel and Francoise, settled at Grand Pre', Acadia, and married in 1680 to Marie Bourgeois, daughter of Jacques Bourgeois and Jeanne Trahan. Their children included:
- Antoine Jr., born 1681
- Charles, 1683
- Pierre, 1685
- Marie, 1688
- Jean, 1691
- Jacques, 1693
- Joseph, 1697
- Marguerite, 1699
- Rene, 1701
- Elizabeth, 1703
- Francois, 1714
Charles, son of Antoine, was married in about 1708 to Marie Gotrot, daughter of Claude Gotrot and Marie Terriot. Children of this union were
- Marguerite Charlotte
- Anne, born 1710
- Madeleine, 1719
- Mathurin, 1722
- Pierre, 1725
It is believed that Madeleine, daughter of Charles and Marie, is the same Madeleine that married Jean Baptiste Melancon.
