Hi Folks and welcome to my personal homepage. My name is Jim Landry. I reside in Hessmer, Louisiana, which is in the central part of the state.

I am married to Shirley Ducote Landry, also from Hessmer, and we are parents to three daughters and grandparents to three grandsons.

I earned a BS degree in Agri-business from LSU in 1973 and currently employed in the field of banking.

My interest in genealogy started years ago simply as a desire of wanting to know more about my own familyline......similar to why many other folks begin their interest in genealogy. But it didn't take long for the bug to bite! Seemed like one question raised two more and before I knew it, I was looking up stuff on all sorts of Landrys, researching the history of the Acadians and the history of early Louisiana development. All this has led to an effort which is almost like a full-time job of maintaining a Landry Family Database (over 60,000 Landry and related names) and webmaster of the Landry Family Association site and webmaster of this site.
