DUPUIS Hoot

Francois DUPUIS was born in Saintonge Province, France in 1725. He can be placed by a land purchase at St. Charles Parish on the German Coast of Louisiana on July 24, 1754. He can also be placed later at St. Jean Baptiste Parish.

Francois Dupuis married Perine Champagne and died at St. Jean Baptiste Parish on October 7, 1788.

There are five known children with this union:

Pierre, born 1763, married Francoise Normand, daughter of Jean Pierre Normand and Marguerite Wichner. Pierre and family moved from St. Jean Baptiste to Avoyelles Post approximately 1790. They can definitely be placed at Avoyelles on March 20, 1792, from land purchase records. There are seven known children from this marriage. BACK
