DAUZAT
Antoine DAUZAT was born in Montreal, Canada, in 1713. He was the son of Pierre Dauzat and Marguerite Guinard.
He was widowed when he came to Pointe Coupee, where he married on August 12, 1749, Marie Catherine Frederic, widow of Louis Riche. She was the daughter of Jean Frederic de Traitac and Marie Catherine de Boulair.
There were three children born of this marriage, all born at Pointe Coupee.
Antoine died at Pointee Coupee on July 30, 1755. Marie Catherine died also at Pointe Coupee on November 20, 1766.
Antoine Dauzat Jr., son of Antoine and Marie Catherine, was born on September 4, 1755. He married at Pointe Coupee the daughter of Jacques Deshotels and Anne Stephan, Angelique Deshautels.
Antoine Jr. moved his family to the Avoyelles Post in the 1790's. It is known that at least nine children were born of this union.
