Aymond
Members of the AYMOND family of Avoyelles are descendants of Michel Aymond and his wife Catherine Aron, natives of Strasbourg, Alsace, now the Department of Bas-Rhin, France.
Jean Baptiste Aymond, son of Michel and Catherine, also a native of Strasbourg, was the progenitor of the Aymond family in Avoyelles. Jean married on April 5, 1785, in a ceremony registered at St. Louis Parish, New Orleans, Marianne Jofferoin, daughter of Pierre Jofferoin and Marianne Vallo, natives of France. Marianne was born at Pointe Coupee on March 22, 1758.
